How to identify your vehicle.

When ordering parts it always good to have at hand the vehicles Registration book (V5/ Log Book/ Tax Book) it contains important information which will make finding the correct part easer.
(e.g. Engine CC, Year of Manufacture, Body Type. Fuel Type.)

Oval Plate Number.

For some years now Renault vehicles have used a four figure identification number Vehicle Type Number sometimes referred to as the Oval plate number because it was when first introduced, stamped on a aluminium plate attached to the body of the vehicle, as well as this there is the Vehicle Fabrication Number

On vehicles manufactured after about 1996 the number can be located on a clear or white sticker usually on the drivers door post. Before this it was found on an aluminium chassis plate which is usually located under the bonnet, This is very useful for identifying the model of Renault you have.
